Airbnb Experiences: Paris

A couple of months ago Airbnb lauched its brand new service: Airbnb Experiences. Experiences are excursions or other activities designed and led by local hosts. Hosts give guests unique access into places and communities in their city. For now, experiences are only available in select cities and luckily Paris is among them! I checked them all and chose 7 experiences that in my opinion would be interesting for both, firstcomers and people that already been in Paris. All of these Airbnb Experiences are offered in English. Most of the Experiences are limited in time, or are hold only a couple of days par week and probably not all of them will be always available. If you cannot find your date, feel free to contact the host to ask.

Уже известный многим Airbnb несколько месяцев назад запустил абсолютно новый концепт: Airbnb Experiences (самовольно переводу это как Airbnb Опыт, или Приключение). Experiences – это экскурсии, созданные и проводимые местными жителями. На данном этапе, Экспириенсы проводятся только в нескольких городах, и, к счастью, Париж – один из них.

В этой статье я подобрала 7 экскурсий-воркшопов, которые, на мой взгляд будут интересны как тем, кто впервые оказался в Париже, так и «бывалым» туристам. Но даже не только туристам! Я, пока готовила этот материал, отметила себе несколько воркшопов (как, например, сырная дегустация), на которые сама с удовольствием схожу! Единственный недостаток: ввиду того, что эти экскурсии проводятся обычными людьми, не профессионалами, количество дат ограничено. Не стесняйтесь задать хосту (человек, который проводит экскурсию) вопрос напрямую, возможно он просто еще не опубликовал интересующие тебя даты.

Important: me personally, haven’t yet experienced myself these activities, I just find them really cool, the ratings are great as well as the comments of other people.

Bike experience (rated *****), 69€

Longer I live in Paris more I become convinced that the best way to discover Paris is by bike. This Experience is a perfect way to discover hidden gems of the city, learn about favorite spots of a local person and avoid the touristic routes.

During your bike tour, you will stop at pastry shop, a charcuterie and an open air market to shop. After 2 hours of biking, the Experience ends with a picnic on a river bank. How cool is that?

Чем дольше я живу в Париже, тем больше убеждаюсь, что открывать для себя Париж нужно либо пешком, или, еще лучше, на велике! Выбрав этот Экспириенс, ты проедешься по нетуристическим тропам и любимым местам Лео и Тани, которые ведут экскурсию. Вы заедете в булочную и открытый рынок, чтобы закупиться вкусными закусками для пикника, которым закончится твоя трехчасовая экскурсия.

Baguette experience (rated ****), 50€

Well, what could be more French than a baguette ? And how cool it could be not only taste it but also be to learn how to bake it during your stay in Paris ! Check Nicolas’ Experience to become a French baker for a couple of hours ! While your own baguette is in the oven, your host Nicolas will bring you to the market to shop more ingredients for an apero with a glass of wine, cheese and your freshly cooked baguette.

На своем воркшопе по приготовлению, Николя расскажет секреты настоящего французского багета, унаследованные от его бабушки. This should be such a great Experience! I actually assisted once to this hilarious one man show How To Become Parisian in 1 hour, hosted by Olivier. I was laughing so hard! This experience is an extension to the show: you will meet Olivier before in a French brasserie for the aperitif with a glass of wine, cheese and charcuteries. Then you visit the backstage of the Show, assist the show itself and then you’ll have a glass of champagne to end your soirée.

Этот Экспириенс я могу посоветовать со знанием дела, так как раньше ходила на спектакль How to Become a Parisian in 1 hour (Как стать Парижанином за час), который ведет Оливье. Это невероятно смешное one-man-show в котором Оливье очень красочно, с тонким и острым юмором раскрывает мифы о парижанах. Так вот этот Экспириенс, помимо самого шоу, включает в себя аперетив с самим комиком, посещение back-stage спектакля и, уже после шоу, бокал шампанского. Если ты свободно понимаешь английский, а также уже был в Париже и немного понял, что же это за вид такой, парижане, то это шоу просто находка!

Cabaret Burlesque Experience, (rated *****), 60€

Me, personally, I find the art of French Cabaret so inspiring ! Such iconic places as Moulin Rouge, Lido or Crazy Horse know how to create incredibly powerful shows around the female beauty, lights, costumes and dance. And this Experience will help you to learn the basics of Cabaret Choreography and to dive into the festive atmosphere of a French Cabaret! You will be in a nice dance studio, with mirror; the Hosts Emily or Audrey will also lend you the accessories like feather boas, satin gloves, and suspender belts to complete your Experience!

Wear a nice dress you like and shoes with a bit of a heel. Make-up, glitters, and everything make you feel good and feminine. You will have the possibility to take a shower after.

Я сама очень люблю французское кабаре! Такие культовые места, как Мулен Руж, Лидо и Crazy Horse безумно вдохновляют красотой спектакля, безупречнымы костюмами и пластикой. В этом мастер-классе по хореографии в стиле Бурлеск, Эмили или Одри, профессиональный танцовщицы кабаре, помогут тебе освоить основы танца, полностью погрузив в атмосферу праздника: перья, блески, сатиновые перчатки до локтя…

Мастер-класс проводится в танцевальной студии с зеркалом и девушки рекомендуют приходитт в платьях и туфлях с небольшим каблуком. В том, в чем ты чувствуешь себя наиболее женственной!

French breakfast experience at Rive Gauche (not rated yet), 60€

New not rated yet Experience that I find so authentic and beautiful ! The Experience hosted by Eleonora (cookbook author, writer and Chef!) and will take its place in beautiful typical Parisian apartment on the Left bank, Saint Germain des Pres area. You will learn how to cook the traditional French breakfast (crepes).

Bring your own camera and a block notes to write down precious tips on how to cook the meal for which the French are renown all over the world: breakfast!

Этот Экспириенс еще совсем новый на сайте, и рейтинга у него пока нет. Но мне он показался очень аутентичным и интересным: Элеонор (автор кулинарных книг, писатель и шеф-повар) приглашает тебя в свою парижскую квартиру на Левом берегу, в буржуазном квартале Сан-Жермен де Пре. Вместе, вы будете готовить классику французской кухни – сладкие блинчики (crepes).

French brunch on Montmartre rooftop (rated *****), 60€

Hosted by Anne (former food journalist and a private cook) and Elodie (a stylist and private guide.) You will start with the walk on Montmartre with Elodie while Anne is cooking a delicious brunch at home.

A 100% home-made French brunch whose most of the ingredients are local and organic. On private rooftop with an amazing view, you will appreciate tasty french food while meet great people. During winter, the brunch will take place in the warm living-room but you'll be able to have a coffee on the heated rooftop outside.

For those, who (as I do) admire the view of Parisian rooftops: the Experience will be held on a Secret rooftop in Montmartre overviewing the Sacre Coeur!

Cheese tasting Experience (rated *****), 25€

I am such a crazy person when it comes to cheeses, or fromage as they call it in French! I love it so much! That is why this Experience hosted by Pierre (“cheese-teacher”) seems so attractive to me!

France is a big cheese board : over 1000 varieties everywhere in our country, you need a lifetime to taste them all! Pierre will welcome you in his home and share with you his passion for French gastronomy. You'll share a nice cheese board with fresh breads, a glass of wine or farm fruit juice, and travel on the french map to see the places the cheeses come from, who make them and what those farmers' life looks like.

А этот тот самый «сырный» Экспириенс, про который я говорила в самом начале. Я просто обожаю сыр и чем больше его можно съесть, тем лучше! Поэтому мне так приглянулась эта сырная дегустация Пьера (сырного-учителя). Франция – родина более 1000 различных сортов сыра и Пьер с радостью готов поделиться своими знаниями об этом французском продукте за бокалом вина и дегустацией его любимых сортов!

For me traveling always means not only visiting but also "live" the city I am in. Paris' charm and beauty were made by people living here and now you have a great opportunity not only meet the locals but also learn something new form them! Exiting emotions, new skills and memories are the best souvenirs you can take with you on your way back home!

Для меня путешествовать всегда означает не только посещать города, но и стараться "жить" в них. Вся красота и очарование Парижа были созданы ее жителями, и сегодня, мы можем не только познакомиться с "местными", но и научиться чему-то полезному у них! Эмоции, знания и воспоминания - вот самые дорогие сувениры, которые можно увезти с собой!
