What a French Girl Would Wear...This Winter with @louvills

Lately almost every Parisian girl talked about the fact that "La Parisienne" (world known cliché) doesn't really exists. But still the effortless yet so chic and stylish way the French girls dress makes the whole world envy. In this new section for my website I wanted to talk about the basic wardrobe items a French girl would peek for different occasions/seasons. In this first post we will be talking with Louise from @louvills and her point of view on personal style.

Remarque: when we talk about "must haves" or "fashion do/don'ts" we are only highlighting one person's opinion, this won't mean that any of it is a general rule for every girl reading this article.

First, describe your own style in 3 words

Simple, classic, fun

If you had to peek 1 thing about the way a French girl dresses that makes her look different from an American or Italian or Russian girl whatever, what would it be?

Simplicity. They start building their looks on classic pieces, and add details to make them stand out. They follow every trend and they know what looks good on them and just stick to it. They prefer to play around with their accessories, adding one playful piece at a time. What a French Girl Would Wear...This Winter with @louvills by @paris.with.me

What basic wardrobe is to you (3-5 items)

A great pair of high waisted jeans, dark blue or black. A warm jumper in a classic color, like navy or cream for winter or a well cutted white tee for summer. Mid-heeled ankle boots, a manish coat, a mini bag and a printed midi dress.

Whats your empowering (favourite) winter look (outerwear + denim (or skirt or dress) + shoes + bag + accessorises), do you have a photo?

My favorite outfit this winter would probably be: a short faux fur coat, ivory cashmere knit, my high waisted dark blue jeans and heeled laced-up ankle boots in brown suede. I accessories it with a small bag and golden earrings and chain belt. What a French Girl Would Wear...This Winter with @louvills by @paris.with.me

Your must-haves for this winter?

Corduroy pants, cashmere jumpers, ankle boots, a classic camel coat, a men's plaided jacket, big warm scarves.

If you had to choose one favourite piece out of your winter wardrobe
what would it be?

Probably my long classic camel coat. It feels so luxurious, looks good with everything and is large enough to layer on top of a jacket.

What's on your winter wishlist?

Cream colored short faux fur jacket, more pants (probably cord), a chunky cardigan, a simple short knitted black dress

When you have an occasion to dress up, what's your look?

When I want to dress up, my heels go higher and my lipstick darker. Clothing-wise, I love a pretty slip dress, or a velvet bodysuit with jeans. I also recently got a high-waisted leather skirt and I plan to wear it with thin cashmere knits and big earrings.

What kind of clothing you will never wear (describe the print/cut)

Cowboy boots. They seem to be a trend now. Tights as pants. Heels I couldn't walk in. Anything in materials that look cheap or tacky.

What is elegance for you? (1-3 words is enough)

Elegance for me is an attitude. It's looking confident in your own skin. What a French Girl Would Wear...This Winter with @louvills by @paris.with.me

What's bad taste for you?

Not having an identity in dressing. Following every single trend because you saw it on someone else, without asking yourself if it looks good on you. Not paying any attention to the material and quality of your garments.

Whats your beauty routine? (skincare and makeup, name the brands)

In the morning, I was my face with Glossier cleanser. Then apply Kiehl's Breakout Control cream and Dr Jart Cicapair Color correcting treatment. For makeup, I use Glossier Mascara, Boy Brow, Cloud Paint and Haloscope. My lipstick is Tatouage Couture from YSL. I'm currently using Mandarina Corsica fragrance from l'Artisan Parfumeur. At night, I wash my face with Mario Badescu Cleanser, The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid and Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream.
