Midsummer in Stockholm with Daniel Wellington
Last week I spent few days on #DWGetaway in Stockholm with Swedish watch brand Daniel Wellington (DW). I love press/influencer trips organised by brands cause it is not only a great opportunity to travel and (let's be honest) get pretty little gifts, but also it is a chance to see the brand from the inside, to get to know the real people behind DW. It is my second year collaborating with DW and I must say that one of the main reasons that I am so attached to the brand is that I personally know the whole team of beautiful young women in charge of partnerships and influence marketing at DW, I mean even in the era of over-connection it is always so nice to get to meet a real person behind the screen! This trip to Stockholm was my second press tour with DW, the first experience was in Provence in September 2018, and that was awesome (everything from activities to the hotel and location itself was beautiful). Therefore, I was so looking forward to this trip to Stockholm to the HQ of the brand!
Несколько дней на прошлой неделе я провела в Стокгольме, в поездке по приглашению шведского бренда часов Daniel Wellington. Я очень люблю поездки, организованные брендами, так как это не только возможность путешествовать и, чего таить, получать подарки, но и возможность увидеть бренд изнутри, познакомиться вживую с людьми, с которыми обычно ведешь общение только по мейлам. Я сотрудничаю с Daniel Wellington уже второй год и отношусь к бренду с особой нежностью именно потому, что лично знакома со всей командой прекрасных девушек, которые стоят за организацией наших коллабораций. Эта поездка в Стокгольм была моим вторым пресс туром с DW, первый опыт был в Провансе в сентябре 2018, и это было потрясающе (все, от активностей до отеля было прекрасно). Поэтому я с нетерпением ждала тур в Стокгольм, ведь это родина и HQ бренда и кто как не "locals" могут лучше погрузить в атмосферу города. (текст на русском ниже)
We arrived at Arlanda Airport on Tuesday afternoon, and I was surprised how sunny and hot weather in Stockholm was! I have already been in Stockholm in November 2017, visiting my friend Nastya; back then the day was quite short, and the weather was wintery cold. Contrary to June, when the sky is day-bright for about 18 hours per day, and the closer to the north of Sweden you get the longer the day is.
We checked-in at the Sparrow Hotel, rested for a couple of hours and got ready to meet the DW team for an aperitif in their office. About their office in a few words: it's a dream! Firstly, it is located on the last three floors of a high building with a view of the old city (and an open air terrace!); secondly, it is a huge bright space with a minimalist stylish interior, huge windows, natural materials and flowers (marble and wooden tables, many plants in pots). And thirdly, my favourite part, there are no fixed work hours in DW (you come and go according to your own schedule, as long as your work is done), breakfast is served every morning in the common areas for staff, there are slot machines, balance boards and other cool stuff in the office. In short, working in DW seems to be a pretty pleasant experience.
During the aperitif, DW presented its new Classic Ring collection to us: in September 2018 DW already launched a line of Classic Bracelets and a couple of months ago they added two styles of rings to match the bracelets. I got a minimalist Classic ring in rose gold in size 48 for my little finger.
Aperitif, presentation and a million photos on DW terrace later, we went to our dinner location in the Gamla Orangeriet in the north of Stockholm: it is an old place created in 1926 as an orangerie (green house) that few years ago turned into a cozy and bright cafe. Here we met with the rest of the group (there were Instagramers and YouTubers from France and the Netherlands on this trip) and had a very fun evening.
The second day began with an early breakfast at the hotel and car ride to the old city, where we had a rooftop tour booked for us! For me the opportunity to climb high to the rooftops and observe the city from above is a special experience. When traveling, I am always trying to find at least a couple of locations to enjoy the panoramic view. Our Stockholm rooftop tour was led by the guys from @takvandring_sverige . These guys were hilarious, yet always put the safety first: we were wearing helmets, and belts tied to the cable. The tour lasted about 40 mins and the views we got over the old city and Stockholms other islands were beautiful.
After the roofs, we had free time to explore the old town of Gamla Stan on our own and then for lunch we met again with the whole team on the terrace of the Mister French cafe (great spot to eat local food by the water in Old Town).
The evening of that day definitely was the culmination point of our trip - the DW team “plunged” us into the Swedish national traditions and set up the real Midsummer feast: first we were taken on a boat trip to one of the 14 islands of Stockholm where our dinner location was. Upon our arrival there was a welcome drink (of course) with our portraits painted on the cocktails and... flower workshop! According to Swedish tradition, the flower crown is one of the symbols of the Midsummer holiday, and each of us received her own 😍 Mine was made of bright blue cornflowers. After the workshop, the official part began - dinner with Swedish snacks, singing songs in Swedish, cocktails contest, chocolate dessert looking like DW watch and midnight dances. It was a blust! Such a great and fun party, Anna (@annayakovleva_com) and I were laughing so hard, dancing, and singing and having so much fun I guess we looked like crazy people 😅 and there were almost no photos left from that night, which definitely confirms that we had a good time!..
Two and a half days in Stockholm were so filled with emotions and activities that sitting on a plane back to Paris, I had the feeling that we spent at least a week in Sweden. Huge thank you to the entire Daniel Wellington team for the perfect logistics during this trip, I cannot even imagine how much effort, work and stress requires the event with 40 influencers from different countries involved 😅 But those ladies coped with it just great!

Мы прилетели в аэропорт Арланда после обеда во вторник, июнь в Стокгольме оказался очень жарким и солнечным; я уже была в Стокгольме в ноябре 2017 в гостях у моей подруги Насти, тогда световой день был совсем коротким, а погода по-зимнему холодной. В июне же в Стокгольме проходит один из главных национальных праздников Midsummer (о нем подробнее ниже), световой день длится около 18 часов, а чем ближе к северу Швеции, тем дольше. Мы заселились в Sparrow Hotel в самом центре Стокгольма, немного отдохнули и привели себя в форму после полета и через пару часов встречались с командой DW на аперитив в их офисе. Пару слов об офисе: это мечта! Во-первых, он расположен на трех последних этажах высокого здания с видом на старый город (и терассой!); во-вторых, это огромное светлое пространство с минималистичным, но продуманным до мелочей интерьером, огромными окнами, натуральными материалами и цветами (мраморные и деревянные столы, огромное количество растений). Ну и в-третьих, в DW нет четких часов работы (приходишь и уходишь по собственному графику), каждое утро в общих пространствах накрывается завтрак для персонала, в офисе расставлены игровые автоматы, балансборды и прочие крутые штуки. В общем, работать в DW кажется очень приятным занятием.
Во время аперитива нам сделали презентацию новой линейки колец (в сентябре 2018 DW запустил линию браслетов и пару месяцев назад дополнил ее двуми моделями колец), себе я выбрала минималистичное кольцо Classic Ring в розовом золоте, в самом маленьком размере 48 на мизинец .
Далее мы поехали на ужин в Gamla Orangeriet на севере Стокгольма: в старой оранжерее 1926 года сейчас располагается невероятно уютное и светлое кафе. Здесь мы познакомились с остальными инфлюенсерами (в этой поездке были инстаграмеры и ютюберы из Франции и Нидерландов) и очень круто и весело провели вечер.
Второй день начался с раннего завтрака в отеле, сборов и такси до старого города, где нас ждал тур по крышам! Мне кажется, увидеть город с высоты - это всегда особенный опыт, в путешествиях я всегда стараюсь найти хотя бы пару обзорных площадок. А здесь все было супер серьезно: мы были в касках, ремнях безопасности и привязаны к тросу. Тур вели ребята из @takvandring_sverige (по ссылке их Инстаграм, через который можно заказать экскурсию). После крыш у нас было свободное время погулять по старому городу Gamla Stan и на ланч мы снова встретились со всей командой на терассе кафе Mister French.
Вечер этого дня был кульминацией нашей поездки - команда DW "погрузила" нас в национальные традиции и устроила самый настоящий Midsummer: сначала на кораблике нас отвезли на один из 14 островов Стокгольма, где нас встретили welcome-drink и... цветочное ателье! По шведской традиции, цветочный венок один из символов праздника Midsummer, и каждая из нас получила свой 😍 Мой был из ярко синих васильков. После воркшопа, началась официальная часть - ужин со шведскими закусками, крепким алкоголем, который нужно было пить под национальные песни, коктейлями, шоколадным десертом в форме часов DW и полуночными танцами. Это было правда, ОЧЕНЬ весело и круто организовано, мы с Аней (@annayakovleva_com) посадили обе себе голос😅, а фотографий почти не оказалось ни на телефоне ни на камере, что определенно подтверждает, что мы хорошо проводили время!..
Два с половиной дня в Стокгольме были настолько наполнены эмоциями и впечатлениями, что сидя в обратном самолете в Париж, у меня было ощущение, что мы провели в Швеции как минимум неделю. Огромное спасибо команде всей DW за идеальную логистику всей поездки, не представляю сколько сил, работы и нервов требует организация выездного события с 40 девушками-инфлюенсерами из разных стран 😅 Но они справились с этим безукоризненно!
