What to do in Paris this summer?
Summer is perfect season for travel and Paris is known as one of the most attractive and most visited cities in the world! If you are planning to visit French capital in the upcoming months and looking for nice additional to the classic tourist program activities, here is my short list of thing to do in Paris this summer.

Open air cinema
One of the nicest romantic activities for the warm summer nights would be open air cinemas. In Paris, open air cinema in most cases in free of charge, usually you should only pay to rent a chair if you feel need in one. This year, open air cinema festivals will take theirs places in many locations during July, August and even September. All the films are usually projected in French if not mentioned otherwise. So I suggest you to find your best company, prepare you picnic and come enjoy the films under Parisian sky.
Одно из самых приятных занятий для летних теплых вечеров - это кино под открытым небом. В Париже такое развлечение практические всегда бесплатное, и в этом году будет проходить сразу в нескольких местах. Проектируемые фильм, в основном, не новые, но проверенные временем и на разные вкусы. Найдите приятную компанию, запаситесь закусками и пледами и наслаждайтесь!

Parc La Villette Cinema en plein air : from 20th of July to 20th of August
Every year, the large lawn at Parc de la Villette becomes an open air movie theater for one summer month, this year it will be from the 20/07 to 20/08. Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday one film per night will be projected. You can check the full program here. I was happy to find my favorite films Ratatouille and Hotel Grand Budapest in this year's program!
You are allowed to bring your picnic, wine in bottle and glasses are authorized. But, for security reasons corkscrews and metal cutlery are not allowed.
Каждый год большой газон в парке La Villette превращается в кинотеатр под открытым небом! В этом году фестиваль кино Cinema en plein air будет проходить по четвергам, пятницам, субботам и воскресеньям, каждую неделю с 20 июля по 20 августа. Полная программа фильмов здесь, ф мне приятно было найти в программе Рататуй и Отель Гранд Будапешт!
На лужайку можно проносить свой пикник, вино и стеклянные бокалы, но нельзя штопор, открывашки и металлические приборы.

Toile sous les etoiles: from 6th to 8th of July, Cour d’honneur du Chateau de Vincennes
Only three days of film festival Toile sous les etoiles in outstanding location: Vincennes castle which is located in a couple of metro stations from Paris (metro station Chateau de Vincennes, line 1). The movie selection is great too:

Once here, at Chateau de Vincennes, you can take the chairs to use them during projection for free (but the stock is limited). The projection starts at 10:30 pm, you are allowed to the lawn from 9 pm to enjoy the concert of local bands. Bring your picnic!

Balenciaga: L'oeuvre au noir at Musée Bourdelle 18 rue Antoine Bourdelle, Paris 15ème
More than 70 costumes and dresses from the archives of the famous Parisian House Balenciaga are gathered together under the roof of Musee Bourdelle at Palais Galliera for the exhibition Balenciaga: L'oeuvre au noir. The founder of the House, Cristóbal Balenciaga was constantly inspired by the Spanish Falcon and black color so dear to the couturier became one of the distinctive codes of the brand. With this exhibition they pay tribute to the couturier "whose religion was clothing", as Christian Dior said about Balenciaga.
Более 70 костюмов и платьев из архивов Парижского дома Balenciaga собраны в музее Бурдель (Musee Bourdelle) Palais Galliera на выставке L'oeuvre en noir. Christian Dior, Couturier du reve at Musée des Arts décoratifs 107, rue de Rivoli 75001 Paris
70 years ago, far back to the year of 1947, Christian Dior presented his first fashion show; that day the new silhouette of the women's wardrobe was born. Christian Dior's "New Look" was a symbol of new life beginnings after the years of war. This silhouette created by Dior becomes fast the embodiment of the true Parisian chic, and makes from the couturier himself a synonym of the Haute Couture.
At the exhibition, which will be held at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris from July 5 to January 7, 2018, the visitors will find more than 300 dresses created by the House from 1947 to the present day. 70-years long history of the House undern the creative direction of Christian Dior himself as well as his followers - Yves Saint Laurent, Jean-Franco Ferre, John Galliano, Raf Simons and, newly appointed Maria Grazia Chiuri.
70 лет назад, в далеком 1947 году Кристиан Диор представил свое первое дефиле - рождение нового силуэта женского гардероба, New Look: наконец вернувший свою женственность после войны, новый силуэт Диор с подчеркнутой талией, расклешенной колокольчиком юбкой и мягким контуром плеч становится воплощением истинного парижского люкса, а сам кутюрье - синонимом термина от-кутюр (haute-couture, высокая мода).
На выставке, которая будет проходить в Музее декоративных искусств в Париже с 5 июля по 7 января 2018, собрано более 300 платьев, созданных Домом с 1947 года по наши дни, как самим Кристианом Диор, так и его последователями - Ив Сен-Лоран, Жан-Франко Ферре, Джон Гальяно, Раф Симонс и, недавно назначенной новым креативным директором дома, Мария Грация Киури.

Summer terraces and bars
Cafe Renoir at Musee de Montmartre, 12 rue Cortot 75018 Paris
Hidden from the tourist crowds of Montmartre behind the white walls of the Museum, the new Cafe Renoir is a perfect place for the afternoon tea or an evening aperitif. Cafe Renoir opened only a few weeks ago after the renovation. It is a pretty room with velvet armchairs, mirrors on the walls, shelves full of books and plants. But the cafe is not limited to the walls of the main room: there is a huge garden in courtyard of the Museum of Montmartre, just in front of the Cafe where you can find many tables and chairs and benches to enjoy your time here. There is also a tiny staircase hidden in the garden, by following it you can come really close to the famous vineyards of Montmartre.
These vineyards used to grow all over Montmartre hill, however today it is quite a small piece of land. But still, every season they harvest grapes, make wine and sell the bottles at auction which is held on the second Saturday of October. The proceeds go to the charity organisations in the district.
Скрытое от туристических толп Монмартра за неприметными стенами Музея, новое кафе Ренуар - просто райское место для послеполуденного чая или вечернего аперитива. Кафе открылось всего несколько недель назад после реставрации и представляет собой небольшую комнатку с бархатными креслами, полками с книгами и зеркалами на стенах. Но кафе не ограничивается стенами небольшого зала - по всему огромному саду перед музеем расставлены его кованые столики со стульями, беседка, качель! А спустившись по спрятанной в углу сада лестнице, можно совсем близко подойти к виноградникам Монмартра.
Эти виноградники раньше росли по всему Монмартру, а сегодня это совсем небольшой кусочек земли, но и с него каждый сезон собирают виноград, делают вино и эти несколько бутылок распродают на аукционе. Полученные средства идут в фонды по благоустройству квартала Монмартра!
Summer terrace at hotel Saint James 43, Avenue Bugeaud 75116 Paris
Unique in its beauty, the Saint James hotel completely updated the restaurant's menu after arrival of the new one Michelin star chef Jean-Luc Roche. Moreover, famous Saint James' summer terrace usually available only for the hotel guests and a member of a private English club is open for everybody, for the first time this year!
Summer terrace is located in a garden in the back of the hotel. Decorated with huge balloons, the space is divided into two parts - on the right side there is the restaurant, and the bar on the left part of the garden. The terrace is open to the public every weekday from 19:00, and on Sunday afternoon for brunch.
Interesting fact: the balloon theme is very dear to the hotel - it was from here, in the 18th century the first balloons were launched to fly over Paris!
Уникальный по своей красоте отель Saint James, с приходом нового шеф-повара Жана-Люка Роша (отмеченного звездой Мишлен в январе этого года) полностью обновил меню ресторана, и открыл для публики свою летнюю терассу, прежде доступную только гостям отеля и членом частного английского клуба.
Летняя терасса представляет собой сад, украшенный огромными воздушными шарами, и разделенный на две части - справа ресторан, слева бар. Терасса открыта для всех желающих каждый будний день с 19:00, и на воскресный бранч.
Кстати, тема воздушных шаров не случайна - именно отсюда, в 18 веке запускались первые воздушные шары над Парижем!
