French Inspired Last Minute Christmas Gifts Guide

The holiday gifts race seems to be slowly approaching its end but what if the days pass, and you still have no idea of a present to your loved ones? In today's post I came up with my list of great last minute gifts. Most of the products are coming from France or just having that special French je-ne-sais-quoi charm; so I hope it will bring you a fresh idea and help to survive the pre-Christmas shopping agony.

Le Labo Candle

Until recently, I was not so much into scented candles. But that was until I met the right one! Candles can create a magic and cozy vibe in any apartment so I believe that scented candle is a perfect universal gift. My personal favorite is Santal 26 by Le Labo Fragrances; their fragrances are so unique, rich and long lasting! Tip: if you are not yet familiar with the brand, you can order  and try their 5 ml samples for all fragrances via Le Labo website for only 3 euros.

This month the French truffle specialist Artisan de la Truffe comes to legendary Fauchon on place de la Madeleine with its festive pop-up store.  There is a whole assortment of truffle flavored specialties of the House: from truffle flavored olive oil to desserts. Each product comes in a beautiful package and would be a perfect gift for gourmets, truffle and French cuisine lovers!

Jewelry

I l o v e to receive and offer jewelry. I also love to search for the local designers: their jewelry is much more special and unique than the jewelry from the chain brands. Plus your order is always delivered in a special (often hand crafted) package, with a personal note from the designer. For me such brands are precious, their jewelry is made with heart and soul and always have a story behind each creation. Two of my recent discoveries - the brands Holy Recycle (Spain) and Loca Luna Jewelry (Australia), both deliver worldwide (really fast!).

Очень люблю получать в подарок и дарить украшения и бижутерию. Причем особенное удовольствие получаю, когда нахожу локальные, очень особенные бренды - их украшения в разы уникальней, чем бижутерия сетевых магазинов. Плюс украшения всегда доставляются в особенной упаковке, часто с личной запиской от мастера. Для меня очень ценны именно такие покупки/подарки - с душой и небольшой историей. Holy Recyle

Holy Recycle is the creation of Amanda Nyberg who has been breathing life into forgotten religious medallions.  The chains are made of the finest materials such as silver 925, 24k and 18k gold plating. Nickel and lead free. The vintage medallions are all made from aluminium and each piece is completely unique. I adore the work Amanda is doing: each piece is unique and has such a special vintage spirit.

The classic and chic children's brand of Rive Gauche of Paris, Tartine et Chocolat is designed for kids under 12 years old. But if you ever held Tartine et Chocolat soft toys, I think regardless of your  age, you will want to keep it forever: Tartine et Chocolat toys are incredibly beautiful (in a very chic French way) and soft. Every toy animal has a name like Prosper the Polar bear, Ferdinand the Elephant and my personal favorite Leon The Hedgehog.

Классический детский бренд левого берега Парижа в первую очередь рассчитан на детей до 12 лет. Но если ты когда-нибудь держал в руках их мягкие игрушки, думаю вне зависимости от возраста, расставаться с ними было крайне сложно: они невероятно красивые причем очень сдержанной классической красотой. Face masks

If the perfume or skin care products are sometimes too personal to be offered, there is no such problem if you choose the face/hands/hair masks. Today in Sephora and many other beauty-shops there are the whole stands with a huge selection of masks for all occasions - eye patches, textile or gel masks, masks for hair or hands. Pick 4-7 different masks for different occasions to offer to your girlfriends or sister, I think it would be a great and useful gift!

Если с парфюмом или более персональными продуктами по уходу за кожей (крема, лосьоны) иногда страшно не угадать, то с масками проблем гораздо меньше. Сегодня в Sephora и любых других beauty-магазинах стоят целые стенды с огромным красочным выбором масок на все случаи жизни - патчи под глаза, тканевые, гелевые маски, маски для волос, рук. В общем, на мой взгляд, собрать своего рода букет из нескольких масок в подарок подруге или сестре - это отличный полезный и универсальный вариант.

Books

I love to receive books as a gift especially when it comes from a person who know me well and put a special effort to chose the right book. Anastasiya Mozgovaya is one of those friends  When I am looking for something special to read, I always go to her for advice and NEVER got disappointed so far (she also contributed to Pariswithme.com earlier this year with a selection of her favorite books and bookstores addresses in Paris)! Anastasiya recently published a post on her blog with a selection of books that would be a great gift.
