iPhone Screensavers Set: August Dust
For the first time in 7.5 years of living in France, I spend the whole month of August in Paris. Well, almost the whole month as I only got back to Paris from my trip to home country on the 8th. So, what I would like to tell you my friends, is that I have very mixed feelings about all this August-in-Paris thing: on the one hand the city is very calm and quite in this time. No rush in subway, easy speed entrance to the exhibitions, no lines at the supermarkets. But at the same time, the city is filled with tourists, favorite places and coffee spots are closed for vacations and in some areas during the afternoon siesta you feel like in a post apocalyptic film - no one around. Therefore, if I were suddenly forced to choose whether I like Paris in August or not, I would rather choose the latter. Paris is not Paris without Parisians.
In today's post I am sharing with you new iPhone screensaver set: warm and almost cozy pictures of never-ending summer in Paris.
Впервые за 7,5 лет жизни во Франции я провожу весь август в Париже, ну почти весь (я вернулась из поездки на родину 8 числа). Так вот, скажу вам, друзья, у меня смешанные чувства по этому поводу: с одной стороны очень спокойно, спокойно ездишь в метро, спокойно без очередей ходишь на выставки, спокойно делаешь покупки в супермаркете. Но в то же время, город наполнен туристами, любимые места закрыты и в некоторых районах в часы послеобеденной сиесты чувствуешь себя как в пост апокалиптическом фильме - такая пустота вокруг. Поэтому, если бы меня вдруг заставили выбирать нравится/не нравится ли мне Париж в августе, я бы скорее выбрала второе. Все таки Париж не Париж без парижан.
