Vintage shopping in Paris
There is no secret that fashion is cyclical, that every year trends are turning back the 70s or the 80s or the 90s. Today's fashion is all about looking back to what our parents have been wearing back in our childhood days: glitter make-up, sequins, iron patches and large prints, washed jeans and bombers. As long as your clothes looks old (holes, bleached colors) - you are in style. Even the high-end designers are having a blast from the past by recreating the vintage pieces; they prove that everything old is new again!
Today on blog I am sharing with you some of my favorite addresses to shop vintage in Paris. There you could easily find some original and authentic stuff with soul and history. High quality selection in stores, stylish visual merchandising and professional staff are creating an incredible shopping experience: I really have no idea how these guys could put the things so beautifully together out of the loads of crap! I am a huge fan of second-hand and vintage, as long as it is environmentally friendly and each item is special and unique.

Ультрамодные вещи сегодня - примерно то, что носили мамы-папы в нашем детстве: пайетки, бисер, крупные аппликации и принты, джинсы разной варки и дырявости. Сегодня модная вещь - искусственно застарена, вся в дырках и имеет шарм хорошо полежавшего на антресолях старья. Дизайнеры ищут вдохновение в винтажных вещах, создают трибьюты прошлым кутюрье и на примере своих коллекций доказывают, что новое - это хорошо забытое старое.
Сегодня я поделюсь адресами нескольких проверенных винтажных магазинов Парижа, в которых запросто можно найти оригинальные, аутентичные вещи с душой и историей. Качественная подборка, профессиональный мерчандайзинг и развеска в винтажных магазинах создают невероятную атмосферу шоппинга: я правда не представляю, где они достают все эти чудесные вещи! Я сама большой любитель секонд-хэнда и винтажа, это экологично, уникально и, найти "свою" вещь - это как найти сокровище.
Espace Kiliwatch, 64 Rue Tiquetonne, 75002 Paris (closed on Sundays)
If you are a beginner vintage shopper - Kiliwatch is definitely good place for you! The store is looking much more like an underground concept store than the second-hand vintage shop: concrete walls, hipster magazines stands; they even produce their own brand! In L'Espace Kiliwatch they also mix vintage and new clothes (for a second-hand clothes there is always a "Used" tag). It is actually very nice and comfortable shopping experience: clothes are ranged by styles, color and materials (denim, sequins, velvet and so on); lots of total looks are presented on mannequins. L'Espace Kiliwatch is a perfect place for a beginner in search for "light" vintage experience.
Если вы только начинающий любитель винтажа, то Kiliwatch определенно для вас! Он совсем непохож на секон-хэнд, а выглядит скорее как андерграундный концепт-стор: бетонные стены, подборка модных журналов, своя линия одежды. Здесь намешана новая одежда с винтажной (на винтажной всегда висит бирка Used) и ходить по магазину одно удовольствие: одежда развешана по цветам и материям (джинсы, пайетки, бархат и тд); на манекенах часто собраны целые луки. Идеальное место для новичка в поисках "легкого" винтажа.
Hippie Market, 21 Rue du Temple, 75004 Paris
Six years ago just a couple of weeks after my move to Paris, Hippie Market was the first vintage place I ever discovered. And still, after many years I find here an excellent selection of well ranged of trendy stuff! In Hippie Market it seems like they sell the latest designer collections only for the reasonable prices - faux-fur coats of all shapes and textures, leather and satin bomber jackets, multicolored hats and coats, boyfriend-shirts and so on! And all this with a good music, great hippie vibe and in a great location - in the district of Le Marais.
Когда-то давно, шесть лет назад именно здесь я открыла для себя качественный, красивый парижский винтаж: здесь отличная подборка, порядок (что немаловажно для тех, кто не любит копаться в горах одежды), ультрамодный персонал. Кстати, о персонале, я уверена, что это люди либо с особенным фэшн-талантом, и наметанным глазом, либо профессионалы из официального мира моды: потому что в Hippie Market словно весят последние дизайнерские коллекции - разноцветные шубы всех форм и фактур, кожаные и сатиновые бомберы, шляпы, пальто, клетчатые рубашки! И все это под хорошую музыку и в отличном месте - в квартале Le Marais.
Kiloshop, 69-71 Rue de la Verrerie, 75004 Paris
Kiloshop has multiple locations all around Paris - even in the bourgeois neighborhoods, such as the 16th District, there is a Kiloshop. On each location the store is perfectly arranged, collections are constantly changing with seasons, they even have sales! Nevertheless, the concept of Kiloshop is different from previous ones - there is no fixed price for the item. There is a color tag hanging on each product: green, red or yellow. The color corresponds to the price for "kilo", hence the name of the shop. Smart!
Винтажных магазинов Kiloshop уже очень много по всему Парижу - даже в самых буржуазных кварталах, как например 16-й округ, найдется свой Kiloshop. Как обычно, порядок и организация идеальны - все развешано по моделям и цветам, что очень удобно если хочешь найти, например, красно-синюю клетчатую рубашку - все в одном месте. Тем не менее, концепт Kiloshop отличается от предыдущих - здесь нет фиксированной цены за вещь. На каждом изделии висит бирка зеленого, красного или желтого цвета. Цвет бирки соответствует цене за "килограмм", откуда и название.
Vintage Standards, 104 Boulevard Saint-Germain, 75006 Paris
Relatively new vintage shop, comfortable, bright and beautiful. Recently opened in the wake of the popularity of the vintage, Vintage Standards still lacking for the "true" vintage shop spirit, but nevertheless, here you'll find a good selection of all sorts of things from hats to umbrellas, small prices and an excellent location - just a stone's throw from the Latin Quarter on the Rive Gauche.
Относительно новый винтажный магазин, удобный, светлый и красивый. Открывшийся на волне популярности винтажа, в Vintage Standards меньше чувствуется уникальная атмосфера, но тем не менее, здесь хорошая подборка вещей, маленький цены и отличное месторасположение - всего в двух шагах от Латинского квартала на левом берегу.
Free'p'star, 61 Rue de la Verrerie, 75004 Paris
Definitely one of my favorite, but also the most messy shop: in Free'p'star you'll never find perfect arrangement by color/style, plus the place itself is small and always packed with people. But after all, here for some 20-30 euros you can snatch for an authentic Burberry trench coat, or 5-euro-Levis501, as well as the Converse of all colors and patterns, oversized knitted sweater, light chiffon dresses and unusual bags. Free-p-star is for an advanced vintage shopper who loves to dig deep and knows how to catch the treasure among the mountains of crap.
Один из самых любимых, но и самых бардачных магазинов: здесь, как раз таки, нет идеальной развески и сортировки по цветам, плюс сам магазин маленький и всегда битком набит людьми. Ведь многие знаю, что тут за каких-то 20-30 евро можно урвать тренч Burberry, за 5 евро - классические Levis 501, а также Converse всех цветов и моделей, огромные свитера, легкие шифоновые платья и необычные сумки. Free'p'star - это уже продвинутый уровень любителя винтажа, который любит копать глубоко и умеет распознать сокровище среди горы хлама.
Chinemachine, 100 Rue des Martyrs, 75018 Paris
My most recent discovery: Chinemachine is a small shop on Montmartre with a delicate selection of vintage items. It catched my eye with its beautiful Parisian facade and thoughtful design of the store. In Chinemachine you can also find vintage jewelry and shoes.
Совсем недавнее открытие - маленький, с очень аккуратной подборкой винтажных вещей магазинчик на Монмартре. Мне он приглянулся красивым истинно парижским фасадом, продуманным дизайном самого магазина. Здесь также можно найти винтажную бижутерию и обувь.
