First Time in Paris: Must-Do List
Paris is one of the rare cities that everyone dreamt about at least once in a lifetime. Paris is a perfect destination for any season, there are always a lots of events, concerts, exhibitions going on simultaneously. And I am not even started to talk about the beauty of the city itself, the smell of croissants from bakeries in the morning or noisy terraces in the evening. Lots of things to make your head spinning.
Based on my experience of showing the city to my friends or relatives visiting me for the first time in Paris, I came up with the list of 12 activities to enroll during your very first visit. The list is intentionally quite short (compared to all the endless stuff really worth seeing / photographing / trying in Paris), so I hope you could easily add some of these suggestions to your own program :)
Париж - это город, который заставлял мечтать, пожалуй, каждого, хоть раз в жизни в нем оказаться. Париж прекрасен в любое время года, здесь всегда одновременно происходит множество событий, концертов, выставок. И все это не считая красоты самого города, запаха круасcанов из булочных и вечерних шумных терасс за бокалом вина. В общем, голова пойдет кругом от изобилия соблазнов.
В этом посте я решила расставить акценты и составила список из 12 занятий, которые, на мой субъективный взгляд, стоит сделать в твой самый первый приезд в Париж. Список намеренно совсем небольшой (по сравнению со всем тем, что реально стоит увидеть/сфотографировать/попробовать), поэтому я надеюсь, ты легко сможешь добавить некоторые из этих пунктов в свою собственную программу :)
In this post I put together lots of cliches and popular tourist places which I believe became so because they are truly cool and must-see for anyone traveling to Paris. Like, imagine, coming for the first time and not seeing Eiffel Tower... so rebellious (and impossible)! Meet the sunrise on Trocadero / Встретить рассвет на Трокадеро
Trocadero is one of the most beautiful sites with a view of the Eiffel Tower. But, as it often happens with everything beautiful in Paris, there are always A LOT of tourists on Trocadero. Therefore, in order to enjoy the moment and the view as much as possible (and without surfing between selfie-sticks), I advise you to come here early in the morning by dawn which is totally possible during autumn and winter.
Трокадеро - одна из самый прекрасных площадок с видом на Эйфелевову башню. Но, как это происходит со всем прекрасным в Париже, на Трокадеро всегда очень много туристов. Поэтому, чтобы максимально насладиться моментом и видом, в не отмахиваться от селфи-палок, советую приехать сюда ранним утром к рассвету, что абсолютно реально осенью и зимой.
Have your nutella-banana crepe in Jardin du Luxembourg / Скушать блинчик с нутеллой и бананом в Люксембургском саду
I know, I know, it's extremely sweet / not healthy / fat, but it's sooooo good! Plus, so hard to keep from the temptation to try one, because they sell pancake literally on every corner! I also find pancake ( white flour "crepe", or buckwheat flour "galette" in French) a universal snack, especially when you've missed your lunch and all decent places are already closed until dinner (happens a lot in Paris).
Да, это страшно сладко/вредно/калорийно, но это оочень вкусно! Удержаться от соблазна скушать такой блинчик очень сложно, ведь блинные лавки на каждом шагу! И вообще, блинчик (на французском "crepe" на белой муке, или "galette" на гречневой муке) в Париже - это прекрасный перекус, если ты пропустил обед, до ужина еще далеко, а все приличные места закрыты.
Go up on the Eiffel tower / Подняться на Эйфелеву башню
This October, the Eiffel Tower hit the mark of 300 million visitors since its opening in 1889. Also, the major restoration works began this autumn and will last for the next 17 years, the costs are estimated for 300M euros!!! However the Tower will stay open everyday. I advise to buy an online ticket in advance, however it will hardly save you from waiting: the Eiffel Tower is the most visited monument in the world, therefore there are thousands of visitors willing to get on the top of Iron Lady every day.
В этом октябре Эйфелева башня перешагнула отметку в 300 миллионов визитов со дня ее основания. Также на башне начался капитальный ремонт, который обойдется государственной казне в 300М евро и будет длится целых 17 лет! Но башня ни на день не прекратит радовать посетителей и будет открыта всегда. Советую заранее купить онлайн билет, но и он не избавит тебя от ожидания, ведь Эйфелева башня - самый посещаемый монумент в мире, следовательно желающих оказаться на вершине железной леди тоже много в любое время года.

Montmartre is kind of ambiguous place, once very bohemian, it still keeps a lot of secrets, incredibly colorful terraces, picturesque facades and souvenir shops. But here, you need to always keep your eye on your belongings!
Anyway, back to the bohemian aspect of Montmartre. Montmartre historically is the place of painters and artists. Here, on the Place du Tertre you can come to sit on the terrace and admire the colorful paintings from afar or you can make yourself a great souvenir and make your portrait painted by one of the artists.
Монмартр очень контрастное место, некогда очень богемное, оно по-прежнему таит в себе множество секретов, невероятно красочный терасс, живописных лавок и сувенирных магазинчиков. Но здесь, нужно быть всегда начеку и держать все свои ценные вещи на глазах.
Но вернусь к богемному. Монмартр - исторически место артистов и художников. Здесь, на площади Place du Tertre можно просто прийти полюбоваться колоритными художниками с мольбертами и красками, а можно сделать свой портрет, на память.
Buy yourself a beret / Купи на память берет
You can find a beret in any color in any Paris souvenir shop for 4-5 euros. In addition to a wonderful and useful souvenir, French beret is also the main hat accessory of this season.
Берет любого цвета можно найти в любой сувенирной лавке Парижа за 4-5 евро. Помимо прекрасного и полезного сувенира, берет еще и главный головной убор этого сезона.
Take a boat trip on the Seine / Прокатиться на кораблике по Сене
After a few days of exploring Paris by foot, the idea of rest and enjoying the views of the city from the boat sliding on the Seine seems excellent to me. Personally, I would prefer the evening boat-tour: firstly, there are fewer tourists on board, and secondly, once the night falls down, there is special magic in watching from the water Paris lighting up her lights. There are a lot of different boat companies for all the budgets: from the most classical (and less expensive) Bateaux Mouches to private tours on small motor boats or even restaurants-on-boat where in addition to the beautiful views of Paris, you will also be deliciously fed :)
После нескольких дней пешком по Парижу, идея отдохнуть и насладиться видами города с борта кораблика мне кажется особенно привлекательной. Лично мне всегда больше нравились именно вечерние прогулки по Сене: во-первых, на борту намного меньше туристов, во-вторых, с наступлением темноты Париж загорается огнями, и наблюдать на этот праздник огней очень красиво именно с воды. Сегодня в Париже очень много различных предложений прогулок на лодке для разных бюджетов: от самой классической Bateaux Mouches до индивидуальных прогулок на небольших моторных лодках или лодках-ресторанах, где помимо прекрасного вида на Париж вас еще и вкусно накормят :)

Behind the famous facade Cafe de Flore hides the rich history of one of the most legendary Parisian cafes which in 2017 turns 130 years old! Since its opening, Cafe de Flore remains a favorite place of bohème de Paris: writers, journalists and such movie stars as Brigitte Bardot, Alain Delon, Roman Polanski were regulars here. Despite its considerable age, Cafe de Flore still attracts both the local Parisians (especially for the early morning coffee and old-fashionned news-paper read) and tourists. Cafe de Flore embodies chic, conservative and slightly snobbish spirit of the left bank.

Go to museum / Посетите музей
I am not proud but the fact is that I'm not the biggest fan of museums, for me it would be an option for a second or third visit, or a time-kill on a rainy day. I would rather prefer the simple walks around the city to the art. But nevertheless, the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay are an undeniable must-visit. Not only because of the permanent exhibitions and the most unique works of art of the history of mankind, but also because of the grandeur, beauty and history of the museum buildings themselves. The entire landscape of Paris would be different, without the impressive silhouettes of Louvre and Musee d'Orsay on both sides of La Seine. To shorten the waiting time at the entrance, buy your online ticket in advance. And every first Sunday of the month the entrance to the public museums is free.
Лично я не самый большой фанат музеев, я скорее оставлю эту опцию на второй или третий визит, или же на дождливый день, предпочтя искусству простые прогулки по городу. Но тем не менее, Лувр и Музей д'Орсэ - это неоспоримые must-visit. Не только из-за перманентных выставок и самых уникальных произведений искусства истории человечества, но и из-за величия, красоты и истории самих зданий музеев. Весь ландшафт Парижа был бы другим, не будь здесь величественных силуэтов Лувра и Музей д'Орсэ. Чтобы укоротить время ожидания на вход, позаботься заранее о покупке онлайн билета. А каждое первое воскресенье месяца вход в государственные музеи Парижа бесплатный.
Go up on Notre-Dame de Paris / Поднимись на башни Нотр-Дам де Пари
But only if you have enough time in Paris: the ascent to the towers of Cathedral de Notre-Dame de Paris is by foot only without any elevators; plus the number of people on top is strictly limited (due to the age and fragility of the Cathedral). Therefore waiting in line can last for a couple of hours. But believe me, it's worth it: from the height of the ancients gargoyles and huge bells the breathtaking view opens over La Seine, Left Bank, Pantheon and of course the Eiffel Tower.
Но это только, если у вас достаточно времени в Париже: подъем на самое "сердце" Парижа, на башни его Собора осуществляется без лифтов, пешком; плюс количество людей на вершине строго ограничено. Из-за этого, ожидание в очереди на подъем может растянутся на несколько часов. Но поверьте, вид оттуда прекрасен: с высоты горгулий и колоколов, в которые бил Квазимодо, открывается захватывающих дух вид на Сену, Левый берег, Пантеон и, конечно, Эйфелеву башню.

Another gorgeous panorama opens from the rooftop of one of the world's most famous department stores Galleries Lafayette Boulevard Haussmann. The entrance is free and gives a view over the rooftops of Paris, Opera Garnier and the tower.
С крыши одного из самых знаменитых департмент-сторов мира, Galleries Lafayette на бульваре Haussmann открывается прекрасный (и абсолютно бесплатный) вид на крыши Парижа, Оперу Гарнье и башню.
Afternoon glass of red wine at Cafe Le Nemours / Бокал вина на терассе Cafe Le Nemours
Or on any other terrace, but having a glass of wine while sitting on a heated terrace at a tiny round table and watching people passing by - is the classics of Paris. In my opinion, nothing will make you feel more Parisian than this simple ritual of sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine.
Или на любой другой терассе, но бокал вина, сидя на улице на подогреваемой терассе за крошечным круглым столом на плетеном стульчике и закусывая орешками, попкорном или что там они еще приносят на аперетив и наблюдать за пешеходами - это классика Парижа. На мой взгляд, ничто так не погружает в атмосферу Парижа как вот такое сидение на терассе с бокалом вина.

Even if in this post I am describing the most popular tourist routes, I deliberately did not include Avenue des Champs-Elysees: I really do not like to be there. Too many people, too noisy and too trivial: Zara, H&M and McDonalds windows are no different from the same windows in any other city. But however I suggest to go up on Arc de Triomph for a 360-degrees panorama: from there you can see Avenue des Champs Elysées, the glass skyscrapers of the business district La Défense, Place de la Concorde and of course the Eiffel Tower.
Пусть в этой статье я собрала самые популярные туристические маршруты, намеренно не включаю сюда Елисейские поля: правда не люблю бывать там. Слишком много людей, слишком шумно и слишком неинтересно: витрины Zara, H&M и McDonalds ну ничем не отличаются от таких же витрин в любом другом городе. Но вот подняться на Триумфальную арку определенно стоит: с ее вершины открывается панорама 360 градусов на Париж. Оттуда видно и Елисейские поля, и деловой район Ля Дефанс, и площадь Конкорд и конечно, Эйфелеву башню.
Night in French Cabaret / Вечер во французском кабаре
I love the art of French cabaret so much: for its impeccable technique of dance, beautiful costumes and make-up, sensual dancers and the atmosphere of the endless feast with champagne, loud music and ringing of wine glasses. Would it be Moulin Rouge, the most classic and world-famous cabaret, or Lido on the Champs Elysées, or modern and sensual Crazy Horse: each of them will definitely leave a bright mark in the memory of this journey to the city of lights.
Я просто обожаю кабаре: это удивительно точно поставленная техника танца, прекрасные сложные костюмы и макияж, изящная пластика артистов и ни с чем несравнимая атмосфера праздника с шампанским, громкой музыкой и звоном бокалов. Moulin Rouge - самое классическое и всемирно известное кабаре, или Lido на Елисейских полях, или же более откровенное и чувственное Crazy Horse, каждое из них определенно оставит яркий след в памяти об этом путешествии.
