Instagram Favorites: Parisiennes
I will not deny it, my guilty pleasure is people watching, I think that I might have borrow this habit from Parisians (this is what they do sitting on a terrace and sipping a glass of wine, they are watching you 😂! no, just kidding). I love to notice the little details of peoples outfits, what accessorises they choose, the way they talk (even if his/her only companion is a dog) or walk. I agree with the statement that people make the city what it actually is, they are creating that special charm Paris is so famous for. But what exactly this "charm" is? Well, I suppose it is the way Paris makes you feel: there is nothing wrong about being imperfect, everyone has his/her own doubts or vulnerabilities. But what I learnt from my years of living in Paris is the way to embrace the imperfections, accept it and don't give to much energy trying to erase it. Use this energy instead to highlight your beautiful special traits.
To my surprise (and, to be honest, to my great joy), I almost never see perfect Instagram profiles run by Parisian girl. Of course, everyone has his own standards about what "perfect" means, but for me perfect Instagram profile includes perfect greed, perfect time of posting, glossy colors and background, perfect posing, outfit and perfect latte art. Parisian girls keep their profiles more airy, they look more spontaneous and like they don't really care. Disclosure: of course they care, but they make you feel like they don't. And that's cool, that is so Parisian (cliche) to look effortless after actually putting a lots of efforts into something.
Я очень люблю наблюдать за людьми, мне нравится замечать детали их образа, аксессуары, манеру разговора (и пусть разговаривают они даже со своей собакой!). Я согласна с утверждением о том, что люди, как ничто другое, лучше всего характеризуют город, придают ему особый шарм. Согласитесь, ведь Париж был бы совсем холодным и еще более надменным, не будь в нем Парижан. Более того, я считаю, что как сами парижане, так и весь город в целом заслужили свой особенный, ни на какой другой город не похожий имидж, благодаря удивительному умению преподносить свои несовершенства с обезоруживающим шармом.
К своему удивлению (и, если честно, к большой радости) я практически никогда не встречаю в парижских Instagram профилях (или профилях о Париже) фото, доведенных до идеального: идеальная поза, освещение, фон. Потому что "идеально" по общепринятым стандартам - это не совсем про Париж. Или нет, не так: имея фоном Париж, любая картинка идеальна. Я, конечно же, не имею ничего против красивых, глянцевых профилей, я бескрайне уважаю работу каждого. Просто в моем субъективном понимании индивидуальность выражается как раз таки умением посмотреть в глаза несовершенству и принять его как что-то, что отличает это место/человека/момент от другого. Ведь стандарты "идеального" всем известны, а вот стандарты "неидеального" - нет.
After such a long introduction, let's move on to the topic of this post - Parisian girls that inspire me, through whose eyes I like to rediscover the city I live in for seven years soon. Strolling through these feeds you can actually see a person behind her Instagram greed: self-portraits made in a massive mirror above marble fireplace (really common interior piece in Parisian apartments), velvet sofas or an old chair proudly hunted on flea market. Follow her Stories to visit an exhibition in Parisian museum or to have a close look on a Friday home party and afterwork drink on a heated terrace. Of course this Instagram accounts also shows only the best and the brightest moments of their lifes but despite the big following base (and there is no secret that their Instagram presence is also their full time job) these profiles look effortless and light.
После столь долгого вступления, перейду все же к теме - Instagram профили о Париже, которые меня вдохновляют, чьими глазами я люблю вновь открывать для себя город, в котором сама прожила уже почти семь лет. Мне нравятся эти профили тем, что, несмотря на то, что собраны они из фотографий разных людей, в разное время побывавших в Париже, в них, в этих галерея, есть единый парижский дух. И мне, кстати, особенно нравится идея этой сборной солянки - микс фотографий парижан, и туристов, которые сумели "прочувствовать" город. пролистав их, в голове создается прекрасный единый образ его создательницы: портреты в зеркалах над камином, бархатные кресла, выставки и музеи по выходным, вечерние выходы "на стакан"...

Just a couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon the Instagram gallery of this bright, beautiful, always slightly coiffé décoiffé blonde and had a girl crush at first sight: love her style, her images, the inspo pictures she posts and the aesthetics of her profile in general is something that really inspires me. Sabina grew up in Paris but originally she comes from Romania from where her parents moved to France immediately after her birth. Today Sabina is a freelance journalist, she works for WhoWhatWear, and also participates in digital campaigns of her favorite brands.
Профиль этой яркой, красивой, всегда немного растрепанной блондинки я нашла совсем недавно и влюбилась с первого взгляда - в ее образы, ее фото, очаровательную улыбку и вообще в эстетику ее профиля. Сабина, оказывается, родом из Румынии, откуда ее родители переехали сразу после ее рождения. Сегодня Сабина фрилансер - работает на такие издания, как WhoWhatWear, а также участвует в digital-кампаниях любимых брендов.

Despite her relocation and life in England, Camille stayed true to her Parisian roots and in her Insta gallery she incarnates a real Parisian girl living between two capitals.

About Jeanne and her Parisian style renown internationally knows everyone who is at least slightly interested in fashion or/and Paris. Nevertheless, without her my list of favorite Parisian girls to follow on Instgaram will be incomplete, thanks to her incredible charm and beauty a la francaise. Jeanne herself struggles with this sticky cliche of Parisian women, she believes that Parisian girl as it is often described in books and guides does not even exist! In order to show the world another (real life) Parisian women, in 2017 Jeanne Damas teamed up with Laurent Bastide famous French journalist, to write a book A Paris were they put together 20 portraits of every day life Parisiennes. This book should be soon available in English and I would strongly recommend it to anyone interested to the subject.

This profile is not about one particular Parisian woman, but some sort of a collage made from the Parisian moments all around the world. It is also about the fact that Paris is not only a city, but also a state of mind. I like this profile for the daily portion of inspiration, light and slightly vintage mood, accurate quotes. And most of all for their idea that the Parisian woman not only the one who actually lives in Paris, but rather a carefree, self-confident, cheerful and often disheveled girl no matter her geo-location!
Этот профиль не об одной парижанке, а о ее собирательном образе, и еще о том, что Париж - это не только город, но и состояние души. Ну и что быть парижанкой можно быть где угодно. Мне нравится этот профиль за ежедневную порцию вдохновения, воздушные снимки, меткие цитаты couple goals. Ну и больше всего за их идею о том, что парижанка - это не только жительница Парижа, а скорее беззаботная, уверенная в себе, веселая и растрепанная девушка в абсолютно любом уголке мира!
